My Messiah :Love in Damascus - Episode 24
NOVEMBER, 2009
I entered my car and drove straight to the state hospital not obeying any traffic. On getting there, I saw the matron with a nurse sitting outside the emergency ward. So I approached her.
"Good afternoon ma" I began "what is wrong with her?"
The matron looked at me with disgust but I didn't mind.
"Are you related?" She finally asked me
"No, but we are friends"
"Then go home" she said sharply
How would I go home when my other half was lying helplessly on the sick bed. If they didn't open up and tell me what was going on, I was so determined to sleep in the hospital . Thank God it's weekend, so no lecture and even if there was, skipping a class or two won't affect.
"Ma, I can't" I said "how could I be comfortable at home when she is lying in the sick bed"
The matron gave me a hard stare, seems to me she already understood what I meant.
"The doctor is yet to tell us exactly what happened" she finally said but I was so sure she wouldn't expect me to believe that cause I didn't and I suspected foul play. Was the matron lying or just trying to keep it from me.
"So go home" she added
My mind was already made up, I would not leave that place without finding the truth

. Suddenly, the doctor rushed out of the emergency room and went to meet the matron.
"We have to act fast" he started "her parent must be informed and a donor most be...." The conversation had began to fade from my ear.
"A donor!" I cut in "what for?"
But the doctor had said the word before the matron could stop him
"She is suffering from hepatitis" he said and I immediately had cold feet even though I hadn't knew the meaning, but a word with such spelling can't be a good thing.
"What is hepatitis?" I asked trying to get more information
"A serious liver infection" the matron had bailed me out and pulled me to one corner
"Now go home" she said, but I wasn't just gonna leave her alone at such a crucial time. She is in real pain and my while body system became disorganized. So I turned to leave and the matron added "don't go about spreading rumors"
'Was this rumor or real?' I thought 'if it was a rumor, better let it die off being a rumor'
I got out of the hospital and didn't know when I had reached home. My mind was somewhere else, basically my mind was with her. On entering into the compound, I saw Danny and the brainies with few of our course mate outside my apartment. I knew what they were waiting for but I wasn't in the mood to relay any message.
"How is she?" David asked and I immediately wished she was okay.
"Hope it wasn't serious?" Morris asked but I merely nodded. I wasn't ready to talk cause all what happened today was too much for my brain to process. When their questions was getting too much for me, I went into my apartment.
"Sorry guys, we will see tomorrow" I said as I shut the door behind me.
Through out the rest of that day, I wasn't myself. I had fever, my whole body system was disorganized. I couldn't sleep that night, I kept on counting the ceiling.

. My body had wanted to sleep but my eye were so heavy to close. When I got the chance to doze off, I had a scary dream, a nightmare. I was at a river bank with Sasha, we were chatting and gusting. Suddenly the ocean tides came with full force and carried her away. I yelled and ran after her but I couldn't rescued her. I watched her has she got drowned deep into the ocean.
I woke up instantly and picked up my bible and prayed. She was the same person that had made me religious, I had started going to church. She had showed me the way to Christ. I couldn't sleep again that day and I wished for the dawn to overcome the darkness. The night became very slow and I couldn't wait to see her. My heart began to throb to see its Messiah.
