Love Does Not Cost A Thing - Episode 3

 

In this chapter I would be introducing three new characters who would be playing vital role in the life of our precious mariam. Rabiatu and Jechonias  this is for you darlings

It's Friday morning, I took my bath and head towards the bus park with my bestfriends, and the bus came immediately so I was unable to see the strange guy.  The first lecture we had that morning was 'media management '. Raising my head up was the hansome guy that I want to meet badly, he smiles warmth my heart giving me inner peace he sat down beside me.
  After the lecture was over, I was finally able to ask him what his name was, to my biggest surprise his name was Jechonias, I introduced myself as mariam .  We exchanged numbers and promised to keep in touch with each other . I never said a word about it to my friends as I rushed home immediately remembering that we are having some visitors over that day.
  On my arrival home,   I was welcomed by mum sister and father. I went inside my room only to see my cousin Rhabee but I love calling her Bibi,  its been long since  the last time we saw each other. We embraced each other like we are just meeting for the first time she told me she came with her elder brother named Abdullahi but we call him ya Abdul, he's currently serving in my state so he's going to stay with us for a very long time.
  It's time for dinner we were all present at the table. Ya Abdul came and we exchanged pleasantries with each other and we were left alone we both exchange memories untill I had to retire for bed

. While I was going through my phone I saw a message from Jechonias saying "hello dear, hope you are good? " I found myself smiling like he knew I was waiting for his text before I could reply his message his call came in and we talked for 30mins and he promised to see me in school the next morning.

I woke up pretty late maybe it was because I didn't go to bed early last night. Ya Abdul dropped me off in the school before going on his work place.  It was only Jechonias that was in the class so that gave both of us some quality time together we talked like we both knew each other before and he walked me down to the bus stop.
When I reached home Bibi and my sister were the only one at home so I was telling her about Jechonias and Bibi seemed intrested in knowing how I met him. Immediately his call came in and I had to excuse myself to pick his calls.

One year later, Jechonias (jay), has been a very good friend of mine,  we more like besties now. On a faithful night, mum sent me a message to give to her friend that lives down the road to our house I decided to call Jay to come along with me. On our way coming back we stopped to talk for a while and then and there Jay told me how much he has falling in love with me and I told him how much I've always waited for him to ask me to be his girlfriend and then before I could say another word Jay was on his kneels with a beautiful ring asking me to be his girlfriend I was overwhelmed and I immediately said yes to him and we sealed it with a simple  kiss. Checking the time we both realized it was late already he walked me home and we said our good nights. Unknowingly to me Bibi was standing by the window side seeing all that happend. Immediately I opened the door it was ya Abdul that I saw we greeted and I rushed into my room then Bibi came with  her talkertive "ya Mariam na gan ki da wani a waja yanzu" I saw you with someone outside now asking me who he was I told her it was Jay and he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. She jumped and hugged me  like I was going to die and  I showed her the ring he gave me. After our dinner I didn't stay to make any noise with ya Abdul and Bibi I hurried inside my room as I called my darling (jay). He told me how much he loves me and he made me promises never to leave me for any reason.

I was so eager to go to school as I'll be going to bus park with Jay walking hand in hand we sat down beside each other in the bus and class. I must say almost everybody knows we are now a couple. During lunch time we do have our lunch with Jay now as my friends finds him very attractive and a funny man.
Mum and dad went on pilgrimage, so I was left alone with ya Abdul and Bibi alone in the house which gave me much time to be with my boyfriend and talked more.
After two weeks mum and dad came back, I was so happy to see them again, we had a fiest in the name of their return back home safely.
It's Monday again, i was already dressed when Bibi told me "yaya now that you have a boyfriend its only normal for you to apply some makeup on" which I choose to follow her I decided to apply some kajal(eyeliner), powder and lip gloss. And my darling boyfriend was already at the bus park waiting for me with a beautiful rose  flower. And he now calls me my jewel (which I loved very much).
   It was a very long and beautiful day, after dinner, i was talking to Jay when I heard my mum calling me, I told him I would call him back.  I arrived in the sitting room,  I sat down on the center rug as a sign of respect am not supposed to sit on the same  chair they are sitting on(typical hausa home).
