I laughed out very loud at the tension in the room and lounged myself at the surprised Styxx, he was reluctant before relaxing when he felt that I was playing 

“Come here you big head, how can I forget my sweet heart?”

I heard everybody sigh releasing the breath they have been holding for a long time

“You still recognize me” Styxx asked with a trembling voice 

“I still remember you okay, was just pulling your legs”

“And you really did that, in fact you deserve full time smacking” Sylvia said and made to smack my butt

I dodged the smacking and ran to Styxx who hugged me laughing

“You scared us all and please don’t do that again”

“I will not, I promise”

I looked at my family who were all looking at me; none of them was saying anything

“Mom, Marvin…… Brad, Kingzee………” 

“Alright alright we are good” Marvin said to cover up things

“Just don’t play that expensive joke again” 

I nod obediently 

“We have a problem at hand now”

“What is that” I asked Kingzee

He walked closer to me and held my shoulder looking me in the eyes

I shudder

I know that look, whenever he gives me that look it shows something bad happened, that was the look he gave when I asked him about our Dad

I looked up to him and sigh

“Spill, what is it” I asked hoping it is something I can handle

“Today is supposed to be you project defense day”

“Sweet Jesus” I shouted on remembering it

I made to run out but Kingzee held me

“Calm down okay, we can fix it later. Let us thank God first that you are alive”

I left him and searched frantically around the room

“What are you looking for” Sylvia asked 

“My phone” I replied still searching for it

“My Bag” I announced panicking “Where is my bag”

Sylvia came to me and hugged me

“Calm down babe, I gat you”

“I need to call Mrs

“We have done that” Styxx answered coming close

“You have” I asked in disbelief 

“Yes and she said that you should come and defend whenever you are ready” Carl answered 

“And you are ready” Sylvia completed the statement 

I looked from Styxx to Carl and to Sylvia

“I don’t understand what you guys are saying 

“Tell her” Carl nudged Sylvia after which he stepped out of the room

“Yea tell us, we need to know too” Brad chirped in

Sylvia sighed

“After your accident, I got so confused that I don’t know what to do. So I went to Styxx and Carl and explained everything to them. They understood me and we came up with a plan’’

“Okay” I answered for her to continue

“I have to meet Vivian while they tell Mrs.

. Ariat about your condition and surprisingly she accepted for us to help you”

“Okay, what of Vivian” 

“I met Vivian and explained everything to her; thanks to God she understood my explanation and apologized for taking it all wrong. It turns out she and the husband have resolved the issue but she doesn’t know how to approach me or you. I pleaded with her and she agreed for you to use her story. I relate my findings to Styxx and Carl and we wrote the project for you”

“How did you do that” I asked again almost close to tears

“Remember that paper you used in documenting your project” She asked

“Yes” I answered quickly

“You left it at my house so it was pretty easy for us to type the project since you already put everything down. But to avoid rejection we showed the rough copy to Mrs. Ariat and she approved it so boom we are through with it and……….”

I jumped happily on her; I could not even allow her to finish whatever she is saying.

I can’t believe they can go this length for me

I sniffed 

“Ahhhh, you don’t have to cry nah” Sylvia said stroking my back  “and thank Styxx too because he sponsored all the expenses

“Thank you Styxx, you are really a darling’ I muttered still hugging Sylvia

My family was very happy and they all thanked them. My senior brother exchanged handshake with Syxx, that is good cus I never felt like leaving Syliva now

“So are you ready” Sylvia asked

“I think I am” I answered looking at myself 

“I have no cloths and my hair is very much messed up” I thought 

Sylvia seemed to understand my gesture

“Don’t worry, that is taken care of”
Carl came inside carrying a big bag which contains so many things that I cannot comprehend. Sylvia collected the bag from him and threw it at me. My eyes almost bulged at what I saw inside the bag “Cloths, heels, makeup and a very expensive human hair wig”

“OMG” my family shouted happily at seeing them

“thank you Sylvia”

“don’t thank me, thank Styxx, he made sure I bought the best and that he supported with enough cash” she winked at me and I know what that winks means “I told you he loves you” she mouthed

“Bahd shaid” we laughed at our little joke

“and here is your paper” Sylvia said handing a printed paper over to me “just go through it and master them”

I opened it to see that they did everything to perfection, I am really proud of my girlfriend 

“I love you baby girl”

“I love you more”

Styxx and Kingzee coughed at the same time   

“What’s with the cough”

“Nothingoooo, but you have to start preparing, it is 7:30 am already and it starts by 9:00am” 

“Prepare and go where” Doctor asked entering inside

“Noting, just family business” Kingzee answered scratching his head

I laughed at his description of family business; he is not so good at lying

The doctor examined me again and declared me fit, everybody screamed for joy

Marvin pecked me “I have to go baby girl but I promise to be there”

I just nod

Brad and Kingzee did the same as they left with their wives and Mom promising to be there at my defense. It remained only me, Sylvia, Carl and Styxx; I joined the in their car and we drove straight to Sylvia’s house 

I am really content with the kind of friends and family that God endowed me with

I continued looking outside the window as we drove home cus I couldn’t bear the constant smile that Styxx throws at me, it makes me feel like kissing him right there to say thank you but I am not going to give in to Sylvia. She left me to stay with Stxx at the back seat forgetting that I know her and knows what she is up to.

I want to disappoint her “who is with me guys”

There is one little fact I want us to notice here, good friends are one of the most important thing we need to have in this life because they will always be there for you after your family
