Jadesola(An Arranged Marriage) - Episode 8

 

"Jadesola?" His raspy and deep voice reached my ears, soon the lights came on and I used my free hand to shield my eyes from the intensity of the lights.

"What the hell, Jade! Do you f*cking know what time it is?" I dropped my hands tiredly and glanced at him.

"Too early for you to start b*tching?" I dropped my heels and my phone that I held in my hands before staggering up the stairs.

I suddenly felt him pull me backwards with a force I thought would disclocate my arm.

"What the f*ck, Michael?" I groaned, standing directly in front of him. He was taller, taller than Jide.

He had eyebags under his brown eyes and his jaws were clenched in anger, I glanced down at his fist and he kept clenching and unclenching them.

"You have male's perfume all over you...where the hell were you, Jade?"

"My name is Jadesola, how many times do you want-"

"Answer Me!" He yelled, causing me to jump and my eyes widened.

"I'm not f*cking with you, Jade . Don't you have any self respect or any iota of sense?" My eyes were still wide because it was the first time he'd yelled at me like that.

My phone chimed from the middle of the room and he went to pick it. He glanced at the screen before looking at me with raw anger in his eyes.

"Babe?" He asked mockingly with anger and I was scared

. I didn't want him to tell his mom or aunty ife, I would only be embarassed more than usual.

He answered the call and put it on speaker.

"Hey baby girl" I heard Jide's voice and I intertwined my fingers in each other.

"You're probably half asleep right now. " Jide chuckled before sighing

"Tonight was amazing. I meant it when I said I didn't care if you're married. You're too smart, too beautiful, too young...too good to be treated the way he treats you. I honestly do not give a f*ck about what people say...as long as I have you" tears sprung to my eyes and I pressed my palm to my lips to hide my shameless sobs.

"Sweet Dreams, Angel...and that kiss ...that kiss was f*cking amazing" he gave a boyish chuckle before hanging up.

I glanced at Michael who stared at the phone like he couldn't believe what he just heard. I shook my head and walked up the stairs, heading straight for my room.

Maybe Jide was the the right one.

Maybe.

I woke up with a banging headache and I completely refused to stand up, walk down the stairs, use some paracetamol because I was lazy and mostly because I didn't want Michael to see me.

"He'll never let me hear the end of it.." I muttered and sat up carefully, it was like the headache was liquefied- the region of pain shifted and I groaned before standing up.

I couldn't care less about what I wore, I only knew that I needed some form of relief.

I pulled the door open and dragged my feet along the tiled floor, I held the railings as I walked down the stairs and I found my phone on the floor, by the end of the stairs.

I picked it and noticed that Jide had called five times. For some reason, a silly smile sat on my face as I walked to the kitchen.  I pulled out a covered dish from the freezer and shoved it into the microwave without checking what was in it.

"What's the worst that I could eat?" I muttered as I shut the microwave and set the timer.

"Yam? Spaghetti?...it better not be rice" I whispered and placed my phone down before searching for paracetamol.

"Where the hell is it?" I muttered when I didn't find any In the first aid box. I only noticed a packet of ibuprofen.

I popped two capsule and swallowed it before grabbing some water from the fridge. Simultaneously, my phone rang and I gulped the water down before picking my phone.

"Babe" I laughed a little and pressed the phone to my ear.

"Good morning, Angel" I bit my lips at the raspiness of his voice.

"Jadesola?"

"Yeah? Good morning" he laughed at my voice and I shook my head with a smile.

"I hope you slept well?"

"Hardly...you?"

"Most definitely, I had you on my mind the whole night" I bit the corner of my lips and sat on the kitchen counter.

"And now?" I asked, feeling a little naughty.

"Now...well you're still on my mind"

"Oh" I tried not to smile as I bit down on my lips

"You sound less energetic than you were last night" he laughed and I groaned feeling very stupid.

"You just had to bring up how stupid I -"

"Stupid? Cmon, Jadesola.

. Is that what Michael has been telling you? That you're stupid?" He growled and my heart soared at the possessiveness that peeked through his voice

"You were like a little seductress...a little vixen. My little vixen" I nodded and I jumped when I heard the timer of the microwave.

"F*ck!" I gasped and groaned.

"You okay?"

"Yeah..just the stupid timer-"

"Get dressed, we're leaving" Michael called as he entered the kitchen. He was dressed in a blue and white striped polo that hugged his muscles very tightly and a pair of white fendi shorts.

"Oh okay" I answered, a little distracted by his athletic body and he continued to walk around in the kitchen, I didn't know what he was searching for and I didn't bother asking.

"I'll call you later" I told Jide

"Alright babe. Have a nice day" I hummed and jumped down from the counter before hanging up.

I placed my phone on the counter, pulled the food out of the microwave and sat on the counter again before I started eating. Luckily it was spaghetti and not rice.

"Did you have s*x with him?" Michael suddenly appeared beside me and I coughed.

"I'm sorry, wh-"

"Did.You.Have.S*x.With.Him...the guy who took you out?" He crossed his arms on his chest and I held my head up before picking my fork up.

"Its none of your b-"

"It is my f*cking business if my wife is wh*ring around and defaming me!" He growled and I rolled my eyes

"You a very big hypocrite, Michael and its honestly very irritating! For five f*cking years, you've been cheating on me and you haven't failed to make it less obvious. The whole office knows! The whole Lagos island knows so don't you f*cking stand in front of me preaching about wh*ring and defamation!" I cried out and he clenched his jaws.

"I need to feel loved too, Michael! I need love!" I could feel the tears prickling at the corners of my eyes

"Am I not worthy of love?! You have never ever laid a hand on me since we got married, do you expect me to still be a virgin at twenty five...we've been married for five f*cking years!" The tears fell and his eyes widened.

"What did you say, Jade?" He looked like he just saw the future and I jumped off the counter, throwing the food into the zinc.

"Jade!" He called and I was about to walk out when he held my hand, not too tight.

"What do you want?!" I pinched my nose and turned to him.

"You're a virgin?" He asked and my eyes widened

"That was all you heard from what I said?! F*ck you" I told him and walked up the stairs, preparing my mind for more humiliation from mama and aunty Ife.

Let me start by apologizing. I'm really sorry for not posting this episode in a long time. It took me a week to actually complete it (writer's block). I also have school and work.

However I would like to make a...deal with y'all. 

I really want to update but I'm not sure I can update two books at once with all this workload that presented itself. So, if you've read 'The Devil's incarnate', you will have to choose which book you want me to update every week between that and JADESOLA. The book with the most votes will be updated every week and the one with the least votes will be updated later.
