Hell In A Cell - Episode 5
Everyone dressed up without bathing.Those with little cash bought Pure water so as to brush their teeth.We all looked smart and radiant in our school uniform.you could never believe something unusual has happened.
Some of the students especially the fat ones who had spray used it elegantly and abundantly on their school uniforms so as to cover their body odour.
Some of the borders stood by one of the pillars of the storey building and were laughing at everyone as they came out feeling fresh.And today,borders felt repulsive to mix with their colleagues that are coming from home."Timi,Bola,Janet,and Sofiat stood at the doorway laughing at everyone forming "Tush" without bathing."Good morning pals",I said with a grin showing my upper teeth."Bro Kola",Timi said sarcastically, "You done baff?,who you serve?" She said sniffing her nose which made every border around laugh for a long time.
We ate our breakfast and the bell was rung for assembly and everyone bounced to the assembly like nothing is wrong. After all set and done ,the anthem and pledges were recited and words of advice was given.The teacher on duty raised his hands to teachers at the back to know if there were any other announcement and then Mr Tayo started to step towards the platform.
"Borders,go get your buckets its time to freshen up"
"Chai!",the day student turned immediately to look at the borders around them."ehn ehn I said it that someone was smelling like spoilt egg" ,a day female student turned looking at a fat boy who is a border who was pocketing.Some of us tried to walk majestically out of the gathering ,while others that couldn't bear the embarrassment RAN!.
We took our baths afterwards by fetching water from the house of one of the teaching staff which was not to far from the hostel.The latest gist was "the borders who haven't taken their bathe" I fetched my water and picked up my Bathe box and Towel.I slide the rubber shower cotton and took my bath beside Tade whoose body was covered with soap foam."Baba you just dey baff,b'like say you wan make e pursue u commit for hostel naked".he said has he scrubbed his armpit with his blue sponge.
The boarders took their bath in time and returned to their classes looking as good as new.Boarders in some classes felt shy even after taking their bath and I wondered why.Everyone in my class is a border except from,"Rhodasian Gorilla",forgive me,Tola.so?!..
