Stooping low was one of the hardest things I could never do. I don't like looking weak, I don't like feeling wrong, I don't like being wrong. No matter how much I feel wrong, I can't walk to Ebun, talk to her and accept my wrong. No, my esteem is too much.

I sighed and looked away from Ebun and Amarachi. Amarachi has started talking to me, but Ebun wants me to beg first, and I don't think I'm doing it . I can't beg first. Nope, never.

I looked around the hall as I put half a slice of bread in my mouth. I sighed again as I sighted Dammy eating alone on my ex-table. She's being alone for days now, no one talks to her anymore. She looks sick, I think she's sick from all the punishment she has being receiving from the girls. A day hasn't passed by without her being punished. Her mosquito net has being stolen. They have bathed her with soap water more than once, soaked her bed sheet in gutter water more than once, soaked her clothes in soft drinks and alot more. I feel for her, I really want to be mean to her and do something evil to her, but I can't. I find it so hard.

Joseph and I walked side by side to class, talking about random stuffs. He had become my only friend, and he hadn't for once shown any betrayal sign

. I'm happy we became friends. He's a friend to behold. We continue talking animatedly when we got to class. Talking to him felt like there was no one else in class, except him.

He was telling me about one of his funny Primary school moments, when Dammy gagged and vomited water, all heads snapped to her direction swiftly. As the health prefect I had to do something, so I quickly stood up and rushed to her. She stood up to rush out, but to her disadvantage she slumped and fainted. Chaos began to reign in the class. I didn't know what to do, so I panicked. Joseph, wisely walked to Dammy and carried her bridal style. I wanted to be jealous, but I was too confused to be. He set for the door and walked out, heading straight to the health bay. I followed him, scared and confused.

When we got to the health bay, the matron told him to drop her and go. She put Dammy on drip immediately.

I had to go to class and return. My mind wasn't in class at all. It was on Dammy, I was scared. No matter what she had done to me, I still felt pity for her and cared for her. I still saw her as a friend, even though I knew she was an enemy. Why did it have to be her? I truly love and care for her.

I quickly gathered all my books and put them under my desk, without wasting a sec I rushed to the health bay.

When I got to the bay, the nurse said I couldn't see her. I was shocked at why? They said, matron said so. I was the health prefect, why can't it be allowed. I questioned no one, but went to my class instead.

Before last period, an emergency bell was rung. We were all confused, since J.S.S 2 the emergency bell hadn't been rang.

In no time at all, all senior school students were in the senior school assembly ground. To our greatest surprise our principal was already in the assembly ground, looking disturbed and disappointed. Disappointed? Why?

“I'm speechless,” he began. Pin-drop silence fell on the assembly ground. “If any one told me such a case would come to my table, I'd have never believed,” he continued. “I don't have much to say, but this is a very serious and unexpected case. I'd never believe a very well behaved, well cultured, and well mannered girl would do such a thing. She's a very lovely girl, who doesn't like trouble. Who's always smiling, happy, and far away from trouble. But, I guess I never knew.” He paused for a second, sighing before continuing. “This is one of the hardest things I've done before.” He sighed again, before rubbing his forehead with his index finger and thumb. “If I keep on dragging this, we'd never finish this today. A female student has broken one of the the most vital rules of this school.” He sighed again. It must be a very hard news for him. “Oluwadamilola Feranmi fainted in class today, after several check up and investigations, she was found pregnant. She has been expelled and would be going home today.” With that he walked away with his head in his hands. Wow! Seems like she's close to him.

The students scattered, and murmuring took over the assembly ground. Where I stood, my kneels felt weak, and for a sec I thought I was going fall.

Amarachi walked to me with Ebun, she didn't say anything she grabbed my hands and started pulling me to the hostel. I didn't argue with her, I followed her, sheepishly.

Getting into the hostel wasn't hard at all, since Amarachi was the hostel prefect.

It was like Dammy was waiting for us in the hostel, she was seating on her bed, looking uneasy. We gathered around her. She smiled warmly at us before averting her gaze, and fixing them on her fingers as she played with them. “I wanted to see you all before I finally leave, I know my father would prolly kill me when I get home.”

I furrowed my brow, and placed my right hand on her shoulders. “Hey don't say that, no matter how strict he his, he'd never do that. He loves you too much to do that, he'd only prolly punish you severely and ground you. Don't worry, it's only a matter of time, you'd get over it. I promise.”

She smiled warmly at me. “Thanks for your clemency, I saw you didn't pay back when everyone did, except for the posting though.” She chuckled drily. “I'd miss you all. Ebun I'm sorry I made Esse blame you, I knew she was going to blame you. I'm sorry, and Amarachi. I'm also sorry I'm a disappointment to you. To all of you. I love you all.” She hugged us. We hugged her back as we all returned her words to her.

She grabbed her box, while we grabbed the rest for her. “I was jealous of you, that's why I did all those stuff,” she said to me. “I hope you forgive me.”

I smiled warmly at her. “You're always forgiven, and don't worry I understand what it is to be jealous.”

She smiled, a real smile. “I never knew you liked Joseph though, you know how to conceal so well.” We all laughed, except Ebun. Dammy groaned. “You guys better reconcile soon. I've said I'm-” Her dad shouted her name, making all our heads snap to his direction.

She waved us, and ran to the car. Her dad shut the door frowning, I waved her once again before going. Her dad scares me.
