Day 1 So I got to my place of I.T attachment as early as 8:36am, thinking I was late as the good lad that I am, only for me to get there and the person that was to attend to me hasn't resume work. Imagine! Luckily for me, my course mate was there as well, so I wasn't bored cos we chatted n talked a little as we waited for whenever he decides to arrive. Finally he arrives, and then still tells us to wait outside that he's busy . We then sat outside facing a dusty television set, that only God knows the last time it was switched on- trust me I unplugged the cord and plugged my phone to charge as we kept waiting for Mr A. After a while of waiting for about 4hrs, I went to remind him that human beings where still outside waiting for him in case he had forgotten us, then I got the scold of the morning- 'abeg abeg, when I'm ready I'd call you' and I didn't even know when 'I'm sorry sir' came out of my mouth. Finally he calls us, and starts giving us all the fatherly advice our parents never gave us, before he finally gives us the ethos of the I.T program and then divides us into 2 . I then walked into the department I was posted to, seeing a group of men chit-chatting - an elderly man with a papa's cap, a well dressed young man, and others looking really hungry n tired. One thing that was common was that they were all talking in their twos

. I had to wait till they all finished cos it was obvious nobody entered. I then introduced myself to the neatly dressed young man who was the supervisor, who then told me to wait and sit at the reception, of which I did for over an hour. Nobody told me to walk about looking for what to learn. I walked through a facility that hasn't been maintained for ages, so dilapidated and then I began to wonder where the so called budget or money sent to the ministries go to. From the rickety signboard, to the rough looking veranda, to the hagard looking reception and down to the rest of the building looking so forgotten n abandoned. I just had to wonder where Nigeria as a country is going to. I weep for Nigeria because from the grassroots to the top is full of corruption, yet we say we are fighting corruption. Na only God go help Nigeria. Amen! I met a young man like myself who also came from I.T, tho not from the same school, and oh my! My day would have been boring without himself and my phone. The Carmel's back was broken when I was told I'd be closing by 4pm, I had to Starr praying for 4pm to reach, of which it finally came and I left. I left weeping for my country. The best thing that happened today was the fact I got home and a plate of egusi and EBA was waiting for me.
