Nafisa smiled triumphantly at the thought of finally being friends with Zahra, Ayesha and Yasmeen. She had succeeded in what she wanted for a long time and just added to her believe there's nothing she wants she can't get. She went to school that morning with the intention of totally ignoring Zeenat. What would she do with someone she couldn't gain from? - she thought . She wasn't of any benefit to her. She wasn't intelligent, neither was she was rich like the rests of the girls in school.

"I'm hosting a sleepover in my house tonight and you are all invited," Yasmeen said, cheerfully. She couldn't wait for school to be over and have her party with her friends.

"Wow! I can't wait for tonight!" Ayesha said, excitedly.

"Me too," Zahra smiled.

Nafisa was not happy at all about the sleepover because she knew no matter what she did, Maryam would never allow her to sleepover at someone else's. What was she going to tell them now? What excuse was she to give? She became more afraid if being found out.

"NAFISA!" Ayesha yelled making Nafisa flinch and breaking her out of her trance.

"Uhm... Wh..

. at?" She stuttered.

"I have been talking to you, but you just snubbed me," Ayesha said, displeased. She was not used to talking to people and having them snub her. She regarded it as disrespect and wouldn't have any of it.

"I'm... I'm very sorry. I was just thinking about my last vacation to Paris," Nafisa lied effortlessly. "What were you saying?"

"She asked if you'd be able to make it to the sleepover party I'm hosting," Yasmeen answered instead as Ayesha showed no signs at all of giving her an answer to her question.

"I... " she trailed off and began to think of different lies to tell. She needed to think of a smooth one, because she felt ayesha was already suspicious of her. "I can't do that because my sister is traveling with her husband tonight and I will be left to take care of my niece," Nafisa said and sigh. "- how unfortunate! I'm so sorry I won't be able to make it, maybe some other time."

The girls looked at one another and a deafening silence took over before Yasmeen decided to break it. "Alternatively, why don't we all go to your house instead? That way, we will all get to be together and enjoy our little party," Yasmeen finished. Nafisa let out an involuntary gasp which drew the attention of the three of them to her. Ayesha looked at her suspiciously. She was certain Nafisa was not being truthful about something and she became determined to find out just what it was. Yasmeen and Zahra on the other hand, thought she just surprised or something. They had no idea what made her react in such a manner.

"Yes, I agree. We will sleepover in Nafisa's house," Ayesha concluded.

"Alright then. Is that okay by you?" ZAHRA asked.

"Of course it is, right?" Yasmeen asked. She saw no reason why Nafisa wouldn't want that because her sister and husband were away unless she didn't want them in her house.

"NO," Nafisa yelled and shut her eyes instantly I'm embarrassment. Why couldn't she think before speaking? What will the girls think of her now? What excuse should she come up with for the blunt reply she gave them? She didn't have an answer for either of the questions. She messed up and would have to fix the situation fast.

"No?" Ayesha asked cocking up a brow. She became more suspicious of her. She definitely had a cockroach in her cupboard!

"I mean, you all don't have to come over to my house, I will do that instead," Nafisa smiled, nervously.

"What! Why? Didn't you say your niece is all alone at home?" Zahra asked.

"Yeah it's true, but you don't have to worry about her. I will take her to a neighbour's. She will be alright for the night," Nafisa quickly covered up.

"Alright then," Yasmeen said.

They went back to their school activities afterwards. Throughout the day in school, Nafisa's mind had been preoccupied with the thought of Yasmeen's sleepover party. How was she going to go? Maryam would never allow her. The only alternative she had was to sneak out and that was exactly what she had in mind. She would make sure everyone had slept then will sneak out and come back very early the next morning. That way, they wouldn't be able to notice she didn't sleep at home.

When she got home after school, Maryam as well as Saeed were already back from work. Manal was also back from school. she did the household chores efficiently and when it was ready evening, she waited for them to go to sleep, but they weren't. It was as if they knew of what she intended to do that night. Manal was the first to fall asleep. Nafisa was about to take her to her room, but Saeed told her to Leave her alone that he would take her to the room himself and that she shouldn't worry and go back to sleep. Nafisa rolled her eyes and sashayed to her room. Immediately she got in, she saw two missed calls from Yasmeen and one from both Ayesha and Zahra. Oh no! They must already be waiting for her. "What do I do now! This stupid woman and her husband are making this hard for me." She took took a look at her tiny Nokia phone and dialed Ayesha's number first. She didn't pick the first time until she called again for the second time. She inquired about her whereabout and if she would not be coming again. She apologized to her and made it known to her she would be there by hook or by crook.

She ended the call and tiptoed back to the living room. Saeed and Maryam were still there watching a movie. "Why can't they just do this in their room?" Nafisa rolled her eyes. It baffled her how they had a television in their room, yet they prefer to watch movies or TV shows in the living room.

She checked the time in her phone. It was ready past 8:00pm. The party must already have begun. What should she do now? She thought and an idea came to her. She rushed upstairs to her room first and painted her whole face with a white powder then to Manal's room. She met her sleep peacefully and it irked her. She started making horror sounds to scare  her, but she didn't wake up. "Is she dead?" She tapped her on the shoulder aggressively. She groaned and opened her eyes. To her astonishment, she saw a ghost standing right beside her. Uncomprehendingly, she let out a loud mind wrecking scream which made Nafisa flinch. She quickly made her way out of the room. She went back to hers and dashed into the bathroom. She got rid of the powder on her face and dressed up with a little scarf over her head. She hurried out again. By the time she got to Manal's room again, her parents were already there with her. Maryam was hugging her tightly to herself and muttering duas in her ears. Saeed on the other hand was very scared seeing the way Manual was visibly shaking from excessive fear. He held her hand, soothingly. "What's wrong baby?" He asked, but Manal couldn't answer due to the fear she was in. Her lips were quivering and body shaking. Nafisa took that as an opportunity to leave the house. No one would notice. Wordlessly, she tiptoed away. "Foolish girl!" She said and burst into laughter. "Serves her right."

She unlocked the door and was about to leave the house, when she heard a voice say; "where do you think you are going to dressed like that?!" Busted!
