The Telling
"Now that you know, what are you going to do about it? " Nusaiba and I had lain on a large mat looking at the stars, it was just after Isha.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing, I just know now that humans are not to be trusted, especially Men."
I looked at her face, her gorgeous face. Nusaiba is the cliche Fulani woman with light complexion, button nose, sharp eyes, and rosebud lips altogether making one of the beautiful women I've ever seen . Her face wrinkled into a frown.
"Àjíke." Her accent slightly stretching my name, I like the sound of it on good days but not today, I'm in a sour mood.
"You are taking it all in and not letting any thing out, it's unquestionably the worst thing you could do to yourself, let it all out Hayati, you must understand that Allah made us to rely on each other after putting our trust in Him." I scoff inwardly, see where relying on humanity has landed me, heartbroken, faithless and lost.
"I've always loved Jinke, I've never seen any other man other than him. You better than anyone knows how early I fell in love with him."
She nods stiffly, I take that as my cue to go on.
"Is he expecting me to be at his wedding, what sort of torture is that? Nusaiba tell me what sort of torture is that, all my life I've always wanted to be the only one my husband loves, how can I ever adjust to the fact that I'll be sharing him."
She sits up and motions me into her arms, I go instantly and for the first time, I let out all the tears that had I'd held in and only she'd in front of my Lord.
"It's going to be fine, do your parents know yet? "
Jinke is supposed to tell my father he's getting married, but judging by the fact that my parents have only called to ask about my well being, he hasn't told them. Coward.
If my mom gets to know, all hell will break loose, I know my mother, she's so overprotective of me and when she hears how I lost two children, everything okay will be scattered

"My children would have been my source of joy had they been here, Nusaiba is this Allah's test, am I going to pass it?" I sobbed louder as I remembered the miscarriages.
Oh Allah!
"Nussy, what am I supposed to do, how am I supposed to tell the world that my own husband made me loose our two babies within weeks of their conception."
Who is going to believe that I've never cheated on Jinke. In the society where I live in, I cannot be divorced, it's been decided from my wedding day that I am not allowed to quit my marriage.
If word gets out of how I lost two pregnancies in succession, who is going to believe I had nothing to do with it. Who exactly is going to be on my side when they hear I've still been taking antibiotics for Gonorrhea! I sobbed louder, my sobs turning to wails.
Nusaiba held me in her arms, held me so tight I felt caged in. I am caged, I don't know what to do. I've prayed too many times, every time I feel pain I perform ablution and talk to my Lord.
Many times, I've fallen into sujood knowing only my lord can help, just Him and Him alone.
" You need to know exactly how it happened, I'll tell it all to you, it's going to be out in the open very soon and in hope I'll be able to keep my head out of water then."
Hi guys,
I'm truly sorry. I've been so busy writing the second book in the series, exams came and went and I went back to writing. I'll update everyday till the book is over. I promise, book two has started elsewhere, and I promise to bring it here.
