My Story - Episode 3
'Thank you Esther' I said immediately with a smile as she opened the door for me. 'Mrs Daniels is already here'. 'How long ago?' 'About ten minutes ago'. 'Ok thanks'.
Esther was my personal assistant. She's currently an undergraduate student of University of Nigeria studying Business Administration. She's calculated, intelligent and beautiful and I've been impressed with the way she handles things. She has passion for what we do and I just love working with her.
'Good morning Mrs Daniels. I'm sorry for being late'. 'Its ok. I barely got here'. I dropped my bag on the small wooden desk at the middle of the room and sat down quietly to face her. Her face was pale and dry. Her eyes were red. She had a white handkerchief on her right hand. 'She has been crying' I thought to myself. 'Oh dear, I need to say the right thing, I need wisdom my teacher' I muttered to myself. She was well dressed in a beautiful but simple white gown which was glittering and a beautiful purple turban. She had the same colour of purse to match and a black shoe. Her face wasn't radiant as what she wore.
'Would you take anything?' I asked. 'I could get you a cold drink if you want'

. 'Thank you'. She sighed. 'Mabel?' I inquired of her daughter. 'She didn't come?' 'Do you remember the lady that brought me here last week?' 'Yes, I remember'. She spoke highly of you. I'm only here because of that' she said. I smiled. I hardly knew who the lady was but I remember her well. She told me how she had listened to me at a conference and had been following me online. She had made her daughter sign up too. I was excited to hear that. I was totally impressed. 'I'm worried about something' Mrs Daniels added. 'Which is?' I asked still fixing my gaze on her. 'You're quite young, what would you know?' I smiled. I've heard that a lot lately, but I didn't feel proud. I only felt humbled and privileged. 'You're even unmarried' she said. 'I don't have to be married to live my dreams Mrs Daniels' I answered with a smile. 'And I might not know much but I'm certain you'll find my help invaluable' I added. 'How is Mabel doing now?' I asked. 'She just cries. I literally beg her to eat. My daughter is suddenly becoming a shadow of herself and its all my fault'. She said and let out a cry. I stood up to console her. 'Please, get hold of yourself, don't beat yourself up. Its not your fault'. 'I should have protected her, I should have known better' she said.
