Love Made Her - Episode 8

 

 St.Alley's Avenue ,The Baptist church.
The yellow sun seemed to be going under the blanket clouds making the afternoon cold and breezy.The taxi drove down,crushing dried maple leaves that covered the tarred road.Dove flew from tree tops,diving into the grasses and sometimes the nearby stagnant pool soon to be covered with beautiful daffodils during monsoon season.The tall maple trees surrounding the pool had always blocked the reflection of the sun,making it almost impossible for it to dry.

The church on the other side of the road had pine trees aligned at the gate entrance after the white painted pegs made as fence.The aisle outside the church was covered with white marble stones while on either side of the aisle were green carpet grasses.A large cross was made and placed above the church entrance with a tag under “draw close to me,and I would draw close to you”.The baptist church on Alley’s avenue looked heavenly because the exterior was painted white and it had pink flowers planted round the church building. Will wondered why Tom told the taxi to bring him down to a church,out of all the places in the whole of Scotland.He knew he was a sinner though,but he wasn’t ready to be purified.Will shrugged as he entered . It was Thursday and the choir dressed in purple robes were practicing their special songs against Friday while the pianist played the piano in an undertone.Their voices impressed Will though as he sat watching the choir,he would have clapped to show he was enjoying the voices as they flowed but he seemed uninterested in everything been done.The alter had a big bible on a tall stool standing on the podium covered in white clothes and having a cross drawn at the middle of the stool.The windows around the church where opaque and made of wooden frames

Tom hasn't arrived and Will was beginning to get tired of everything in his sight.Will sat  at the back row of benches and folded his arms as he watched.A statue of Jesus on a cross was placed on the wall, high above the podium,the statue looked so pitiable and Will tried to remember when the last time he went for a church service was.He had been so engulfed with thoughts of how to make more money.Will stood up looking so tired and was about walking to the entrance when Tom walked in."Thank God you are in one good piece,I thought you should be in spirit form by now"Tom Joked and they returned back to the sit Will stood from while Tom cleaned his  hands with a blue handkerchief. Tom paused as they sat and inhaled some air which had the smell of burning incense and candle wax,"I  love the smell of peace and purity"Tom said as he shut his eyes."But such is hard to find in this world of ours, "he added and turned to Will while will  looked at the choir mistress telling them to add more to the tenor of the music sang. It wasn't as if Will was enjoying the music sang any more or the striking of keys by the pianist, he just loved the focus,the passion and the strength behind every voice raised and the power behind their combination and unison." I have a good news and a bad one"Tom said catching Will's attention as he looked away from the choir."Vanessa is missing,she had been off work for four days now and her phone isn't going trough,I have this feeling she has been kidnapped by ,you know who..."Tom said  and he saw Will's face turning reddish,he noticed his hands were getting pale as anger had started setting in."That is the reason why we are here,I want you to learn,to see the reason why you need inner peace,if you don't want to do things the wrong way out of anger and impatience ",Tom said,sniffing a bit and then dipping his hands into his pockets." Screw you!,"Will said with his eyes bloody red and his head buried inside his palms."so what's the good news?"will asked turning to Tom and afterwards returning his head into his palms."well,one of my spies next door confirmed she was kidnapped,am sure you who did  and why"Tom said raising his eyebrow as he talked.

"John?,am gonna kill him,am gonna smash his skull till his brains pops out  and am going to do that right now!" Will said standing up from the wooden chair ."No,find inner peace first ,that's why I brought you here,if you go in search of him,you are dancing to his tune,then your king is about being attacked by pawn just like the game of chess",Tom said as he pulled Will's hands,making him sit back."now don't do the chasing,leave that to him",Tom added.
Tom phone beeped and he removed it from his pocket,the phone light illuminated on his face,"we would be leaving anytime soon,forgive me but I have to pick this call",Tom said as he walked out of the church, his footsteps heard as he walked down to the main entrance leading outside the church.
