If I Die Tomorrow - Episode 9

 

The campus turned cold sequel to Spunky’s corpse that was found at the bush side of the school, for couple of years death of a student has not been recorded. All fingers points at Kenneth based on the news carried by ebonystory blog days back, because everyone knew that a news of such can wake up the beast in any such of man, coupling with Ken’s confraternity life style before he fell in love with Amandaand started disassociating himself from cultism activities in school, the school security has no evidence to arrest Kenneth and moreover he is the incumbent  president of the  student union government, so they apparently ignored the crime situation not minding the tension in the school.

Amanda started living like a slave; Kenneth has turned into a beast which she was able to kill years back. She thought of how to talk sense into her man, but Kenneth hardly gives her attention, he went to the extent of limiting her from coming to his house . She started developing doubts in her relationship with Kenneth; she started having change of mind over settling down with Kenneth. Her friends kept giving her numerous reasons on why she should forget marrying Kenneth but yet she has not been able to eradicate the beautiful moments of her with Kenneth since they started dating. She cried and prayed every night wishing for her man to get back to his senses, the cultism he promised her years back to denounce finally resurfaced with evidence of still been that dangerous Ken he used to be before their union

. Amanda needs her man back; the only way Ken’s beast will sleep again is only if he gives her explanation a chance, one week of their cold relationship seemed  her to be a world without end. Something so special in her life is missing; she lives like someone whose happiness has been robbed away from her.

Kenneth is in misery, his life is empty and getting shattered without Amanda but the pride of a man won’t let him make that come into life. He had continued to ignore Amanda even when he knows how much he needs to hear her own side of the story. He feels save with his relationship for Spunky is no longer in existence, he wants to forgive but his pride kept antagonizing his intent. The most things he misses so much is Amanda’s tasteful food, he kept eating in the restaurant for the days of Amanda’s absence in his life.

. He is sited alone on the bed with is phone wanting to dial Amanda’s cell phone number when a knock came at the door, he walked up to the door opened it and the disappointment written all over his face sends the message of never expecting the one standing at the door.

Mirian stood for a while at the door before entering inside and making herself comfortable on the seat, walked up to the fridge and brought out a bottle of Andre opened it and drinks directly from the bottle. Kenneth looks so confused that he was speechless, left the door and sat on the seat adjacent to the one Mirian occupied. He was about asking her how their agreement went when he noticed tears streaming down her chin, he was confused “what went wrong” he asked

 “Thank you for everything Ken, celebrate your gold medal” she said sobbing

 “I don’t understand, what happened?”

  “Is all you have always wanted; now I have aborted the innocent baby and damaged my womb?”

Kenneth’s life lately is seemingly looking like the one who is under a curse; he looked so confused and tired of life. How can his own cousin live with a damaged womb, His life has finally ruined for he cannot see any comfort in life  knowing too well that he was the one that putted her own cousin into the whole mess. Even though man doesn’t see all they have done in the dark, God in heaven knows it all. He regretted ever not allowing her own wish live, he wished the hands of the clock to return so he could give her decision a chance, but time and tide waits for no man even him Kenneth, crying won’t solve the problem, lamenting won’t change the situation, miracle won’t even happen because their actions was sacrilege, all they need to do is accept it the way it is and live like nothing happened, so easy for Kenneth to imagine. Mirian dropped the empty bottle of the Andre stood up, cleaned her tears and walked out of the apartment speechless.

  “You are leaving like that?” Kenneth asked her

She turned to him, looked at him for a while ignored him and banged the door. Since Kenneth’s life he has never been this scared, he has always known that a heart broken woman is more poisonous than a snake, he cannot imagine Mirian’s next move on him. He feels for her, he putted himself in her shoes and knows that he cannot assure anyone who will be in his shoes a life the next second. Snake do not have short relatives; they will always be like the other. He didn’t in any way ignore Mirian’s silence, her silence sends a message of revenge in her intention, but the question is how and when will she revenge
